NH Alerts is a public safety application provided by the New Hampshire Department of Safety Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Its aim is to efficiently notify, inform, and impact lives within the State by furnishing crucial information to the community. The application distributes emergency, community, and missing person alerts issued by authorized state officials, as well as weather warnings from the National Weather Service to users located in the path of severe weather. Utilizing geo-location technology, the app requires users to enable location services to receive notifications specific to their current whereabouts.

New Hampshire urges all residents and visitors to download this app to stay abreast of situations that could have immediate implications for public safety.

The New Hampshire Department of Safety Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management utilizes NH Alerts to disseminate messages statewide or target specific geographical zones to notify individuals affected by local emergencies promptly. Examples of emergency notifications include lockdowns, disease outbreaks, hazardous material incidents, evacuations, and active shooter scenarios.

Users can customize the app according to their preference by selecting the types of alerts they wish to receive within its settings. Notably, NH Alerts respects user privacy by not collecting personal data and operates without requiring an account. Powered by CodeRED, a widely-used notification system in the United States and Canada for public safety organizations, this application also allows users to receive localized CodeRED alerts when traveling beyond New Hampshire to areas employing CodeRED notifications.
